On one hand, the core survival-based gameplay calls to mind well-worn modern classics like Don’t Starve. The only limiter is your equip slots and sea shards. A precarious balance of inspirations helps to make Windbound something unique and special. There is a crafting system but it does not really add anything that you want or need to craft. For example, your player (Kara) is hungry constantly and you are constantly having to keep her hunger bar in check. You will embark on a journey that explores the forbidden islands, each holding the key to a mystery and unexpected revelations. You can also purchase a single blessing, save and restart in order to purchase another blessing (from another two random blessings) indefinitely. Windbound contains survival mechanics that feel like more of a burden than an actual mechanic. Windbound is an action-adventure game where you play the role of Kara, a warrior who has been shipwrecked alone on an uncharted island and must explore, adapt, and navigate the land and perilous seas to stay alive. Note, you can save and exit the game at the shrine in order to re-roll your two blessings if you don't want either. I'm not sure if the number of blessings changes as you complete successful crossings, but here are all the ones I have discovered so far.
